The review “Le Royaume” is a Christic, Marian and ecumenical periodical. It is the organ of spiritual formation and information of the Community of the Lady of All Peoples and its Works: the Army of Mary, the Family and the Community of the Sons and Daughters of Mary, the Oblate-Patriots and the Marialys Institute
On the evening of August 28, 1971, after a day of prayer at the Shrine of Our Lady of Etchemin, Marie-Paule received an indication from the Lord:
For almost 40 years, Marie-Paule assumed the direction of the first review, The Army of Mary, and then of the papers Marie and Le Royaume, with all the responsibilities inherent in this task.
“TODAY SAW THE FOUNDING OF THE ARMY OF MARY. PREPARE A LITTLE REVIEW THAT WILL BIND TOGETHER THE MEMBERS. THIS REVIEW WILL BEAR THE TITLE, ‘THE ARMY OF MARY’.” (Life of Love, vol. VIII, chap. 16, p. 78)
Obeying immediately the order given, Marie-Paule prepared the first issue of this publication which would quickly become a good means of insuring the spiritual formation of the members of the Army of Mary and making known the truth about it. Over the years, as other Works linked to the Army of Mary were founded, the review became successively the paper Marie (1976-1979), then L’Étoile (1979-1982) and, as of May 1982, Le Royaume.
Thus, from 1971 to 2011, that is, for almost forty years, Marie-Paule was the editor of the review and then of the paper, with the exception of the three years of the duration of L’Étoile which was under the direction of Raoul Auclair. This enabled Marie-Paule to dedicate her time to the publication of the thirteen volumes of Life of Love.
A New Direction
Alone at first in the 1970s to do all the work of writing, correction and page layouts, as well as handling all the administrative responsibilities of the paper, Marie-Paule was then assisted by a small team. However, the ultimate responsibility of the publication still rested upon our Mother’s shoulders, she would take on the major part of the work every time. Thus, in recent years, she often wondered about the future of the paper because it was a heavy responsibility and a constraining task.
Going to the very limit of her strength, Mother Paul-Marie again prepared the September-October 2011 issue, but after that time (November 2011), given that her illness continued to progress, she was no longer able to collaborate actively in the preparation of the paper. From then on, the pages were simply shown her for approval. Then, little by little, the small team already in place had to carry on with the work without her valuable assistance.
Mother Paul-Marie, being no longer able to look after the paper, we then turned to Marc Bosquart who, since then, has been more and more actively involved in the Work’s paper.
From a Paper to a Review
In the year 2000, Mother Paul-Marie had told us that, one day, the paper’s format would be that of a review, but the time for that had not yet come.
At the end of the year 2012, because of a breakdown in their main press, the printing shop Carsona in Lac-Etchemin had to stop printing Le Royaume. Given the urgency of the situation, we were directed towards another printing shop which did excellent work but at a much higher price. Faced with the situation of an increase in production costs added to that of higher mailing costs, as well as other important considerations, after having looked at different possibilities and remembering the indication given by Mother Paul-Marie, we were led to take that step, so that today we have the joy of presenting Le Royaume in its review format.
